WELCOME

Welcome to the official website of Roberto Clemente Sports City. Sports City is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. It is a project the Great Roberto Clemente had aspired to achieve before his tragic death. Sports City is a 304 acre sports complex located in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Our mission at Roberto Clemente Sports City is to commemorate the life of Roberto Clemente, an athlete and humanitarian. Sports City was created by him and built on his legacy to provide a high quality recreational and sports facility for the children of the world regardless of economic circumstances. To teach youth to become better citizens through sports and educational programs, which develop their abilities and reinforces their self-esteem. It provides the youth with hope for the future and to help them contribute to the quality of life for the Puerto Rican family and worldwide community.

Each year, Roberto Clemente Sports City is host to over 200,000 youth.  Our facilities include a track and field area, a swimming pool, a semi-enclosed building which houses four volleyball/basketball courts, four tennis courts refurbished with the help of the USTA and PRTA, six baseball fields and batting cages with ten pitching machines. The facility also has four other "open green" areas which host a variety of events from soccer, pee wee football and model airplane flying to volleyball and company picnics.

This summer, Sports City, with the help of Dodge and Spalding, brought in former Major League Players, Felix Millan and Otto Velez to direct the summer baseball school.

This year we are expanding our Major League Baseball,  RBI(Reviving Baseball in Inner cities) to the fields of Sports City. The program currently covers the towns of Aguadilla, Mayaguez, Moca, Utuado, Lajas and others.

Last year, Marco Rivera of the Dallas Cowboys along with Julius Jones, William Henderson and many other NFL players ran a free clinic for all kids. The NBA (Basketball without Borders) ran a free clinic with Carlos Arroyo of the Orlando Magic, Bo Outlaw, Jerome Williams and many other NBA and Puerto Rican players and the Green Bay Blizzard of the Arena Football League2 to give a free clinic for kids days before their championship game in San Juan

We have been in the process of updating the facilities and adding new programs at Sports City with the help of people like you who come and rent the facilities, join our programs or make a donation. Without this, Sports City would not be able to survive and we would like to thank each of you for making this possible.
